Obsession! More about The Hunger Games as trailer number two drops!!

So, I'm totally dorking out because not only did the Academy of American Poets release their gorgeous 2012  National Poetry Month Poster today (see my previous post) but also because - YAY - The Second Official Hunger Games Trailer has also dropped!  Hey, and the March 23rd movie release is not far behind! Earlier peeks at the film haven't dissapointed, but this one impresses me more than the previous two.

The first preview released at last summer's MTV movie awards - about a minute of material did an acutal scene from the book, but was also heavily made up of a floating title card. The second release - the first offical Trailer, had more consice scenes, surely needed to attract those not familiar with the books, but again, alot of this release was compromised by the floating title card.

So the most recent footage, hitting television's this Superbowl Sunday, was released today by Yahoo Movies, and has surely by now been hijacked by youtube - is definetely more impressive. This trailer is about 69 seconds long, but packs about as much new footage of the first trailer, considering that it dosen't include the same filler sequence. It does contain some already seen footage, but makes up for it with added material.Think more Katniss, Cinna and Ceaser.

Fans will also get a bit of a closer look at some of  "The Girl on Fire's"  interview scene!

I can't wait to one of my favorite book series of all time on the big screen - I hope it doesn't disappoint -  and I certainly don't think so because, Suzanne Collins, the author of the trilogy - which includes books The Hunger Games, Catching Fire and Mockingjay, co-wrote the script, and was on  hand  at the North Carolina (yay!) set for some of the filming.

What you may not know is that Collins, who began her career as a script writer, has worked on several major television series for Nickelodeon, including the hit Clarissa Explains It All. But if you aren't familiar with the books, or aren't a fan of Melissa Joan Hart's glibly conceived and talkative Clarissa, don't set up doubt just yet!

The books and certainly the movie approaches some serious and hard hitting issues such as  poverty, war, and the nature of the public to absorb violence as entertainment. The books and even go so far as to converge on the politically fraught topic of modern warfare and child soldiers.

(The series is aptly named for the main plot elements of the first and second books - "The Hunger Games" in which children between the ages of 12 and 18 are thrown into an arena for days or even weeks with very little food and modern amenities, and armed with mainly primitive weapons, are forced to fight each other hand to hand until only one child is left standing). Tough, huh? Add in a proverbial love triangle  and a blossoming sisterhood inside the death trap - and you've got an even more beautiful, effed up little epic.

Intrigued?

So if you haven't read it, then please - do yourself a favor and  go get a copy tonight. If  you have been lucky enough to experience the books - then journey to the offical site to see more about The Hunger Games' Jennifer Lawerence and Josh Hutcherson (two super-crushworthy youngin's) as the latest litho-film heros!

  3. The "Wikipedia problem" which means children turning to internet for readymade answers is the new age phenomenon baffling teachers and mentors globally. There are almost equal numbers of teachers who consider technology to be a solution as much as a problem. While a common belief is that technology is hindering the students' capacity to think and analyze, there is also a strong opinion in favor of video games and digital gadgets' ability to engage students and enhance learning by using more than one sensory stimulators. In spite of the growing concern about the students' deteriorating attention spans, institutions are incorporating them in the process of classroom learning. 007카지노
